The lonely Road to Calvary

A song by the Sullivan Family

It was 2000 Years ago in the Bible we are told a child was born in Bethlehem to set us free. The Angles named this baby son for he was the chosen one to walk the lonely, lonely road to Calvary. It was a lonely, lonely road to the cross of Calvary as Jesus took each step to set a sinner free. With his anguish head bent low and his footsteps sad and slow he walked the lonely, lonely road to Calvary.

He opened blinded eyes, and he heard the lepers cries he raised the dead and walked the sea of Galilee. He multiplied the fish and bread but all the while his journey led to the lonely lonely cross of Calvary. It was a lonely, lonely road to the cross of Calvary as Jesus took each step to set a sinner free. With his anguish head bent low and his footsteps sad and slow he walked the lonely, lonely road to Calvary. When he had reached it’s journey’s end misunderstood and without a friend he cried it’s finished then slowly bowed his head. He fulfilled the Fathers plan salvation free to sinful man it was a lonely, lonely road to Calvary.
